Question 3 - Audience feedback

I decided to film people talking about my documentary as i thought is was an effective way for people to voice their true feelings and thoughts. I choose to film 3 prospective students who intend to go to university after college , and i also choose an adult to get a mature prospective. I asked 4 questions to get a range of answers on the opinions on the documentary.

From the feedback i was given, everyone commented on the footage we were able to capture from the student protest, they described it as the best aspect of our documentary as it was real footage and not second hand. The protest was live and current to our chosen topic and therefore stood out amongst the documentary.
Also it was described as very informative showing both side to the story, it also made people aware of other unknown routes availiable after college and highlighted the financial burden of university. The choice of speakers also gave them different prospectives on the topic.

Another positive aspect that was mentioned was our use of different codes and conventions of a documentary. We used a variety and this was noticed and reminded them of a real documentary such a bbc newsnight documentaries.

The only negative aspects was that it didnt have a beginning, middle and end and some thought it was too long whilst others thought the sound was crackly at some parts however overall they all would recommend the documentary to others.

From this feedback it gave me a good idea and understanding of how people interpreted it and how it effected their thoughts and feelings. I also got good feedback and positive comments on what we did right, i also was able also find out what poeple didnt like and how i could improve the documentary therefore i found the feedback very informative and useful.
